WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BOARD CERTIFIED
Why don’t most orthodontists go through the trouble of being certified by the American Board of Orthodontics?
Because it’s a lot of work. To become board certified, an orthodontist has to pass a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations, as well as a comprehensive review of his or her credentials. The initial process of becoming board certified can take anywhere from five to ten years. Once certified, the orthodontist must become recertified every ten years to maintain board-certified status.
Many people are lead to believe that all orthodontists are board-certified. However, Dr. Chvatal is one of the only orthodontists in Eugene, only 20% of orthodontists have actually taken the necessary exams and rigorous certifications required to do so. It’s Dr. Chvatal’s and our office’s commitment to your highest level of care!
